Shari Messing

Early Childhood Learning Specialist
Co-Founder & Creator of EnrichAbility

I am President of Shari's Little Learners, a tutoring service in Manhattan and in the Hamptons. I have worked as a kindergarten teacher and a Learning Center teacher for reading and math at a private school in Manhattan for 7 years. In addition to teaching, I work as the Kindergarten Literacy Advisor. I coordinate literacy curriculum meetings and oversee execution of the Literacy curriculum. I deliver feedback to working teams and work with them to improve Literacy programming within their classrooms. Before becoming a head teacher I worked in a Montessori School, in a Public School and spent a summer working with children on the autism spectrum. I am a certified Wilson Reading System teacher, trained in ABA, Sounds in Motion, Handwriting Without Tears and Brain Gym.

Working with children requires dedication, patience and enthusiasm. These are qualities I possess and they enhance my ability to be a qualified educator. I believe that every child is teachable. By addressing different learning styles, I have seen children develop confidence and skills. This is the area of education that excites and motivates me. In addition to adapting lessons, I tailor lesson plans to meet diverse interests, as well as demonstrate direct connections between the child and everyday life. Working with children is my passion!
